1.  House Supervisor 

Job Description:  House Supervisor

General Description: Maintain a level of supervision that insures successful adaptive living in The Freeman Center, and be able to follow and interpret policies and procedures as they relate to persons in residential care. Supervise all general (day to day) activities with regard to client safety, transportation, and location.

Know and abide by the general provisions of 42 CFR Part 2, "Confidentiality of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patient Records", Federal Register, 09 June 1987, Volume 52 Number 110, Part II.

General Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent experienced in chemical dependency, with a willingness to learn more about the field. Sufficient knowledge of recovery dynamics to maintain adequate supervision of clients assigned to Unit station.

Knowledge and Skills: Good working knowledge of recovery process from alcohol and other drugs of abuse. Must have documented study of or have participated in such programs. Shall provide evidence of stability and success in dealing and coping with troubled individuals. Must have good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work through assignments and supervisory tasks. Should have experience in communication and motivation techniques. Requires ability to maintain positive working relationships with clients, other employees, and outside personnel that come in contact with The Center.

Physical and Emotional: Must conduct self in a manner in accordance with the purpose and objectives of a chemical dependency recovery program. Must have and maintain a general level of good health; physical, mental and emotional.

Model effective professionalism by appropriate grooming, dress, language, and work habits. Must be punctual, maintain good attendance record, and follow operational procedures established for accounting and programmatic accuracy.

Supervisory Control: Directly responsible to the Program Manager for direction and evaluation. Will also receive assignments from the Administrator, and varied requests from other Managers.

2. LVN, Detoxification Unit

Job Description:   Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

General Description: Maintain a level of supervision that insures successful adaptive living in the Detoxification Unit, and be able be to follow and interpret policies and procedures as they relate to persons in the Detoxification Unit. Supervise all general (day to day) activities with regard to client safety. Responsible for carrying out nursing measures, give medications, and perform treatments necessary for care and overall comfort of patients under the direction of physician; document all patients' activities, condition, responses to medication, and other pertinent information in the medical records; communicate with the Detoxification Unit Manager to keep other staff informed on status of patients; stocking the necessary medical supplies for the Detoxification Unit and assisting attendants.

General Qualifications: Must be a Licensed Vocational Nurse with a current State of Texas License. Good working knowledge of recovery process from alcohol and other drugs of abuse. Must have good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work through assignments and supervisory tasks. Should have experience in communication and motivation techniques. Have the ability to communicate well with patients in a therapeutic setting.

Knowledge and Skills: A good working knowledge of alcoholism drug addiction and the recovery process. To have either documented study of treatment and rehabilitation and/or to have participated successfully in such programs. Must have evidences of stability and success in dealing and coping with drug and alcohol related problems; have skills of relating well with the patient in a therapeutic setting.

Physical and Emotional: Must conduct self in a manner in accordance with the purpose and objectives of a chemical dependency recovery program. Must have and maintain a general level of good health; physical, mental and emotional.

Model effective professionalism by appropriate grooming, dress language, and work habits. Must be punctual, maintain good attendance record, and follow operational procedures established for accounting and programmatic accuracy.

Supervisory Control: Directly responsible to the Senior Counselor and Nursing Manager for direction and evaluation. Will also receive assignments from the Administrator and Program Manager.

3. Child Care Worker

Job Description:  Child Care Worker

General Description: Maintain a level of supervision children in program that insures successful adaptive living in The Freeman Center, and be able to follow and interpret policies and procedures as they relate to children in residential care. Supervise all general (day to day) activities with regard to client safety, education, play therapy, and positive socialization skills. Work with parents to develop positive parenting skills, creative correction, and adequate child care and supervision. Emphasis will be placed on remediation of parental skills, and children's socialization.

Know and abide by the general provisions of 42 CFR Part 2, "Confidentiality of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patient Records", Federal Register, 09 June 1987, Volume 52 Number 110, Part II.

General Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent experienced in child care and/or chemical dependency. Must posses appropriate credentials from Department of Human Services. Should have sufficient knowledge of recovery dynamics to maintain adequate supervision of children assigned to Unit station.

Knowledge and Skills: Good working knowledge child care service delivery. Knowledge of recovery process from alcohol and other drugs of abuse is extremely helpful. Shall provide evidence of stability and success in dealing and coping with troubled individuals. Must have good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work through assignments and supervisory tasks. Should have experience in communication and motivation techniques. Requires ability to maintain positive working relationships with children, clients, other employees, and outside personnel that come in contact with The Center.
